Haulm Topper

A Haulm Topper is a farming tool that can be used to harvest root crops like potatoes or sugar beets. After being handled by a Haulm Topper, these crops cannot be harvested. In order for a harvester to reach the roots below, which are the actual fruit of these crops, the Haulm Topper chops the parts of the plant that are above ground.

The Haulm Topping phase, which is an additional step needed to prepare the field for harvesting, makes Sugar Beet and Potato slightly more labor-intensive than other crops.

In essence, after the crops have reached maturity, a special machine must run over the field in order to remove the “Haulms,” or leafy sections of the plant that stick above ground. A Haulm Topper is the name of the unique device itself. Each Haulm Topper is intended to be used with a single type of root crop.

The standard Haulm Toppers are straightforward, inexpensive devices that need to be pulled behind a tractor in order to function.

The Haulms of the plants will be severed as the machine moves over the field, leaving just the underground roots. Then, using a different Harvester device, these roots, which are the real Beets and Potatoes you require, can be harvested. The harvester cannot use the field at all while the Haulms are around.

Simple Haulm Toppers operate similarly to cultivators and are simple to use. To complete the work for you, you can employ a Worker.

However, keep in mind that the Haulm Toppers available in the base game are very limited, so processing the entire field will take some time.
