THE PIONEER IN CASSAVA PROCESSING MR WILLIAM OPPONG – CHAIRMAN OF FIRST MACHINERY GROUP

Being one of the most successful Ghanaian entrepreneurs, Mr. William Oppong- Bio is the leading promoter of Isopanel and the Executive Chairman at Supercare Services Group of companies. He is the owner of the largest cassava starch processing factory in Ghana and also owns an alcohol processing factory.

The Ghanaian entrepreneur has a qualification in Draftsmanship and has worked with several companies prior to the establishing of the Supercare Group of Companies in 1991. The group is into the designing and installation of refrigeration equipment, building of cold storage facilities and manufactures representative and currently is the sole distributor of Delchi Air Conditioners in Ghana. He has employed over 300 people and still counting.

He is the owner of a fruit juice company knowns as Fruitiland Limited, located at Assin Nyankumasi on the Kumasi highway in the Ashanti Region. Fruitiland Limited is into the production of “SO Fruiti” and exist in a variety of flavors; Pineapple, Passion fruit, orange and ginger.

He happens to be the Chairman of the First Machinery Group, a subsidiary of TIAST WEST AFRICA. He has been a partner of the conglomerate of different organizations that is focused on creating more value for agriculture. TIAST West Africa since its establishment over 30 years in China and since 2020 in Ghana. He has proven and shown his passion and love for the agricultural sector. He even served as a host of the Kumasi Agriculture Conference organized by Tiast Group and spoke passionately about the agricultural industry.

In an interview with TIAST GROUP, Mr. Oppong-Bio revealed his passion for agriculture where he stated that he loves agribusiness and always aspires to do his best of it. This is quite evident in his ownership of the largest cassava starch processing factory in Ghana.

Just like every successful entrepreneur, Mr. Oppong-Bio, revealed some challenges he faces. He made mention of inadequate investments and stakeholders to push his ideas, concepts and business better. He further stated that negative attitude of some of his staff towards work is also another major challenge.

He has extended his success from himself to the agriculture sector of Ghana. He has proven and exhibited his good intentions for the sector by contributing massively to it in terms of employment and ultimately the raising economic standards of the country.
