SHREDDED BEEF SAUCE

Beef is the culinary name for meat from cattle. Beef is the third most widely consumed meat in the world, after pork and poultry. Steak tartare is a meat dish made from raw ground (minced) beef. It is usually served with onions, capers, peppers, Worcestershire sauce and other seasonings, often presented to the diner separately, to be added for taste. Beef is a good sauce of protein and other nutrients, but also high in cholesterol and saturated fats that can cause fatty deposits to build up in the blood. Beef can be a healthy part of your diet but should be eaten in moderation. Beef can be cooked in a sauce which can be serve alongside rice, plantain etc.

INGREDIENTS

Meat (beef) ½ kilo                                                                 1 seasoning cube

3-4 tablespoon Vegetable oil                                               1 Tbspn ginger powder

2 tablespoon of soy sauce                                                     1 Tbspn garlic powder

½ cup beef stock                                                                     1 Tbspn curry and thyme

1 medium size onion (sliced)                                                 ½ tbspn black pepper

Green and red bell pepper (2-3 medium sizes)                  ½ tbspn white pepper

Carrot (3-4 sticks)                                                                     ½ tbspn of salt to taste

Corn flour(2 tbspn)

PREPARATION

  • Get some beef and cut into long strides
  • Marinate with salt, seasoning powder, curry, thyme and other seasoning of your choice
  • Add corn flour, mix and set aside
  • Get water/stock, add 1 tbspn corn flour, dissolve and set aside
  • Fry marinated beef and set aside
  • Pour 3 tbspn of vegetable oil in a saucepan, add onions, minced garlic, ginger and scotch bonnet to fry for few minutes
  • Add some peppers and vegetables
  • Lightly season and pour back beef
  • Add some soy sauce and corn flour mix
  • Taste and adjust to preference
